» CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character NAME: Hikaru Takeda.
Character PULL-POINT: During her fight with General Dolorus.
Character AGE: 19.

Character ABILITIES: Hikaru is known as Master Traveler Vita, a human being who was granted amazing powers to protect the weak and innocent. She's granted a set of armor in this form and is able to wield a sword among other such weapons with the use of cards she keeps on her person at all times. Beyond this, she's capable of fighting hand-to-hand without her armor and is a decent strategist.

Travelers are trained combatants in Hikaru's world who have been doing such things since early in their childhood and to be one is an honor as there isn't very many of them around. They are gifted with incredible powers based around a certain item - cards, devices, what have you and they are called in when the GAP (Global Alliance of Protection) cannot combat the Gnocem anymore. Travelers are also cyborgs in nature, meaning that they've been altered by the GAP in order to be able to sustain their powers in full without overheating or causing further harm than necessary to their bodies. Should overheating happen, the DRIVER System will malfunction, causing unbearable pain to the wielder.

So far, she has access to two of her more powerful forms, those being Chariot and High Priestess with Empress being locked to her. Chariot deals with raw power while High Priestess is focused on speed. To access these forms and other powerful attacks, all Hikaru has to do is scan a card and the effect will happen as long as Hikaru has enough energy to execute the attack. Her motif is the Major Arcana of the tarot and has effects based on each card in the Arcana.

Character WORLD:

Long ago, in a futuristic world, humans were in control of the Earth and reigned supreme to everything around. Things were good for a time until the robotic companions that humans cherished turned against their friends and forced a select handful into becoming something more diabolical. The name for this new species was "Gnocem", humans who lost their humanity and gave in to the urges to hurt their so-called lesser species all in the name of converting them over to the "right" side.

This worked entirely too well for the Gnocem as it turned out that once someone was converted, they would follow orders absolutely and soon, Earth was overrun by Gnocem and humans were near extinct. This was until the humans decided to make a safe haven to recuperate and repopulate so that they can fight back in earnest against the Gnocem. This brought about the rise of the Global Alliance of Protection, an international squad of highly trained individuals tasked with keeping the peace on Earth and protect the weak. Eventually, Praedisio, this safe haven, became important to protect as well as a force to be reckoned with. Society flourished and soon, people could try to live normal lives without too much trouble.

However, it soon dawned on society that they couldn't just take the Gnocem down by themselves as bullets proved to be ineffective as well as bare fists. They would have to get smarter, wiser, and thus began Project Travelers that was sponsored by the GAP. A select group of humans based on their performance in a few categories were chosen to become Travelers. Since the system was relatively untested, Travelers only had a couple of months in service before they would be removed from the program for either underperforming or not living up to the changing standards that were put in place.

As a few years went past to develop and perfect this technology, it was found out that to maintain the incredible power of the DRIVER System, some modifications would have to be made to the Travelers. This began the birth of cyborgs - beings who have superpowers as well as the capabilities to handle the stress brought about by the DRIVER System as well as what the Gnocem can throw at a person. The next series of Travelers were more successful and those who failed were weeded out so as to perfect the System.

Character HISTORY:

Here is where our protagonist, Hikaru, comes in. Hikaru was born to a salaryman for a father and a doctor for a mother in Praesidio's Greater Tokyo area, with the Takeda family being a prosperous and successful family overall. However, one thing that would worry the Takeda family was that Hikaru was born with dextrocardia situs inversus totalis with her entire visceral organ system being on the opposite sides of where they would be normally. However, even with this rare medical condition, it really didn't impede on her general quality of life outside of a weaker immune system than normal. During her time growing up, Hikaru elected to be in Project Travelers as she looked up to what they represented because she, too, wanted to explore the world beyond the confines of the dome.

At first, Hikaru was pretty awful at keeping up with the training she was given. She would have low marks on her tests and perform quite badly at things, which was pretty common for new recruits. However, it seemed like the training wasn't working, even though Hikaru was trying her best to keep up with everyone else who was competing for the Traveler title. Eventually, she was told that she'd have to shape up or she'd be among the already long laundry list of recruits who didn't make the cut. Not one to have her dream be taken from her so easily, Hikaru decided to man up and improve at her training at all costs. It was discovered out of all the items they tried to sync up perfectly with her growing abilities, Hikaru was the most proficient with the Major Arcana of tarot. Thus, the group let her keep this going to show just how well she'd do.

Those involved were impressed at the results and had an idea who would be the first official Traveler. Thus, Hikaru graduated with top marks and was given the name Master Traveler Vita during high school. She was soon sent on missions to defeat the Gnocem as well as give the GAP any leads into securing more land for Praesidio to expand. Along the way, it was discovered that if Hikaru used The Judgment card she was given, the Gnocem could be reverted to who they used to be: humans. This was a brilliant discovery for the GAP as it would help bolster their own defenses and be able to get any sort of intel needed to combat the Gnocem.

To go along with her duty as Master Traveler Vita, Hikaru was balancing the duty of being a student, too. She managed to graduate with honors at her high school and soon enrolled in to college to be a chef. Due to how the Gnocem wouldn't wait for her, she would be conspiciously absent from a lot of her classes, which made catching up hard. Although, she managed to at least keep passing scores in her classes and would stay after for extra credit assignments to bring up her grades. Along with this, she took up a job at a local cafe to pay her way through college as she wasn't just handed everything she wanted because she was a Traveler.

As Hikaru got used to her life as it was right now and taking down the Gnocem to protect the dome, she was soon sent out on a special mission against a lesser General of the Gnocem army. His name was General Dolorus and as Hikaru and him got into blows, it was evident that she was going to end up losing if this farce continued. Unfortunately, her stubbornness got in the way and caused her to break her transformation while she would be left in the hands of Dolorus and his army...

Character PERSONALITY:

Hikaru can be summarized as a very social kind of girl. She's never afraid to talk or greet someone she hasn't met before and is willing to get to know them because she really isn't shy at all. She's usually a very calm and bubbly person with pep in her voice and a skip in her step. As she's normally found in a good mood, she's easygoing and can shoot the breeze with someone she's talking to. It's easy to win her trust, however she does tend to be someone who wears their heart on their sleeve, so she's able to still be emotionally hurt if someone misplaces her trust.

As she's honest with her emotions and her personality, she also likes to hide what's really on her mind from others. A part of her training as a Traveler, she was told that the Gnocem threat was her worry and dragging people in to what the GAP was doing just wouldn't do. So, while she has a social side, she also has a more serious side that crops up if she's given information that's classified as stuff one needs to know for survival.

To go on with this, she's usually on the front lines and will take the brunt of damage if it means someone else can escape scot-free. This paints her as sacrificial as well as perhaps a bit stupid for deciding to shoulder the pain. Conversely, she's also hot-blooded and will do what it takes to finish a job, regardless of what happens to her. If it means that she has to bleed, then so be it. Again, this ties in to her sacrificial ways. However, as pigheaded as she can get in battle, she does not give up. People depend on her. People count on her to vanquish the Gnocem and protect them and like hell will she let that hope go. Even if it's a lot of responsibility on her shoulders, she likes the challenge and will make sure to make ends meet no matter what it takes.

Her stubbornness is what's shaped her in to a Traveler. Even though she was awful at her training at first, she would just not give up no matter what. People told her to quit so that the mantle could go to someone else, people told her to go be in the kitchen like a good girl and play with her dolls, but she didn't have any of it. She envisioned herself as a Master Traveler and followed through with her dreams completely. She didn't give up then and she doesn't give up now. This goes to her dream of opening a restaurant of her very own to where she can succeed at defeating the Gnocem in her world once and for all. She also does not give up on other people. If she sees someone needs help, then by all means she'll offer to pitch in and help them out with physical or emotional tasks. She'll provide an ear for people to listen to as well as be a shoulder to cry on. If she can help someone out, it makes her feel good in the end.

What's most important to her is making friends. She's caught on to the idea that she needs to build up strong relationships and friendships with others so that her powers can work to their fullest potential. It may seem like a superficial reason for some people, but for Hikaru, she knows she's not strong on her own. She can try to be as strong as she likes on her own, but will only falter if someone can really get under her skin, festering her uncertainty that someone may be better suited for the job. If she has people to bolster her strength and alleviate her worries, she'll be fine. However, if she's left all alone and without anyone to back her up, she will fall hard.

The fear of being abandoned is strong in Hikaru. She's always kept her friends close to her, but if they just up and leave on her, she'll not know what to do as she's never been left behind. Sure, she's felt the sting of friends breaking up/moving far away from her, but never had it happen directly to her. She fears the day she pisses someone off that badly and will make sure to try to prevent that scenario from ever happening the best she can, even if her efforts are futile.

When Hikaru dons her Vita persona, she's all business and seems to be a different person altogether. She doesn't let much faze her, and when it does, she tends to rebound from what's been thrown at her. She'll take orders, sure, but she tends to like to make them when she has an alternate solution. Then again, she's usually following orders from the GAP to take down the Gnocem, so the odds of making her own plans and solutions is a work in progress. Still, in order to be efficient in her job as a superhero, she knows she has to think on her feet and be self-sufficient, both things she's willing to do if given time and lessons.

» EXSILIUM INFORMATION
Chosen WEAPON: Her armor, or rather the Vita DRIVER System. As it was designed, the stronger her bonds are with people, the stronger her armor and weapons will be. While she does have an array of weaponry at her disposal, they're only as strong as the bonds she's formed with other people. Should these bonds fail or be erased, her weapons won't be as strong as they should be and thus, that's why keeping her friends and allies close to her is essential.
Character INVENTORY: A few changes of clothes, a couple of textbooks from her classes, her dog tags, medical bracelet, a headset, badge, a few handguns with ammunition, the Vita DRIVER System and her pack of cards.

First PERSON: Yo, Exsilium! Guess it's pretty happenstance for us to be taken from our homes at an inopportune time, yeah?

[ Her voice is fairly peppy for someone who just got here. It seems like she's wanting to make friends, if the way she's waving is any indication. ]

Anyway, my name is Hikaru and it's really nice to meet you all. It seems I'm housed in room [number here] if anyone would like to meet up or do something. I'm down with anything as long as it's not, like, face down an entire legion of goo monsters with a toothbrush or something wacky like that.

Third PERSON:

The last thing she remembered was fighting against General Dolorus and his legion of Gnocem. Scala had warned her that she was about to overexert the System and to return to Praesidio to recover. However, her stubbornness told her that she could at least wipe out a significant threat to the dome while having enough power to get home. Yet, she wasn't expecting General Dolorus to be as strong as he was. Maybe that's why she was hearing her system begin to beep. Soon, her transformation broke in a blaze of smoke and she was facing down the edge of his blade trailing down her cheek. She was ready to accept her fate as a failed Traveler right then and there before...

Before she was teleported to here? Where was here? And more importantly, where was Earth and Praesidio and the GAP and General Dolorus?

"I have to get home," were her first words that came out of her mouth before she was told everything about Exsilium at once, nearly missing everything that was being said. Okay, she was a Transport, something about missions, don't worry about home and what was that last part? She was soon escorted out of the room as she clamored on about more questions and growled when her face met the door.

Okay, then. This was weird and not to mention that she was rudely denied her questions. But, well... She was sore, beat within an inch of her life, and...

Her stomach shortly growled and she groaned. "Food first, obviously." She opened the tablet up and accessed the map to go to the mess hall before making her trek there. After all, food was essential in maintaining the Vita DRIVER System.
